Litharge is used in the manufacture of lead-acid batteries, glass, ceramics, lubricants, and in the production of PVC stabilizers.
Litharge (yellow lead monoxide) has a different crystal structure and oxidation state compared to red lead (Pb₃O₄), resulting in different chemical reactivity and uses.
Litharge is packed in moisture-proof bags or drums and should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area away from acids and oxidizing agents.
